When someone asks for a way to make money online I tell them to build a few of these each month so that in 6 months time they have a steady monthly income of online money which they can use to scale up the business into a full time living.

Most don’t follow the advice of course. Its not cool to wait 6 months to see a return on your investment. People want to make money online today not in 20+ weeks from now. That’s why all the sales pitches offering the latest make money online product tell you how you will make $10,754 within hours of purchasing their $97 ebook.

They play on the fact people want results tomorrow but of course tomorrow never comes.

How to build a $3 a day web site.

Pick a 3 word phrase in a buying market that you are confident you can rank for and register the domain. A buying market would be “best plasma TV’s” and a none buying market would be “American mountain lions.” I like to go for phrases with less than 50K competing and no pr4′s in the top 10. What you go for will depend entirely on your experience and tools available.

You then need to choose 4 more topics for your inner pages. These need to be related to your main phrase BUT you don’t want to be repeating your main phrase within these other phrases.

ie – Main keyphrase, domain name and index article title = “make money online”

Wrong internal articles would be: make money online flipping sites, make money online with adsense, how to make money online

Right internal articles would be: selling websites for a living, profitable site flipping, build an ecommerce business

Once you have your topics you can write your articles and publish the site. Get it indexed by bookmarking it and point a few other links to it using web 2.0 services such as gather and Blogger.

You need the link building to be steady over the next couple of months. You don’t want to just throw 50 links at it the day you publish and then forget about it. Much better to do 10 a week for 5 weeks or 5 for 10 weeks etc.

Rinse and repeat – Its boring and not glamorous but it works and you can make some serious money if you get organized and get into a routine that works for you.

Scaling Up Your Business.

Once you start selling your sites you should use some of the profits to scale up. Instead of building a couple of sites a month build a couple a week, even per day.

I outsource everything apart from the keyword selection and the actual selling. Each site costs me approx. $200 but for that I will see at least a return of 500% and usually a lot more than that.

Your goal is to build yourself a conveyor belt of small profitable sites. You plug in the keywords and domain name and let the factory take care of the manufacturing and promotion. You just wait on the other end for them to roll off and make bank.
