Creating and Selling Info Product Sites

Selling info product sites is very profitable at the moment, mostly because good ones aren’t readily available so the market is hungry. When they come up for sale they tend to get snapped up quickly.

The reason they are scarce is probably because they take some work to put together. I’ve done a few in the past and although they take several days to create, the actual man hours wouldn’t be much more than 10. A lot of the time I am just waiting for returns from outsourcing.

I like to base my info product websites around a video course rather than the usual ebook that most sell as they can go for around twice that of a similar website for sale that only comes with an ebook product.

What I do is find some quality PLR content on a hot topic and then I’ll spend a morning reading it several times and writing out all the major points.

I’ll then create a Microsoft Powerpoint presentation using bullet points and then record my screen with Camtasia while talking about each point. Because its in my own words I end up with a totally unique product and in this business, uniqueness sells.

Meanwhile I have a graphic designer create me a unique website and sales graphics. That’ll cost me around $60.

I send the audio off to be transcribed and that costs me another $50 but probably adds $200 to the value.

Buy a suitable domain name, write the sales letter, create the afilliate, download and terms pages and then upload it to a $60 a year Hostgator account.

Total cost around $200 with the listing fee and I would hope to get around $700 for it.

Selling info product sites like this with five or six 10 minute videos, together with a transcribe of the audio can often go for a lot more.

Not bad for a days work as long as you don’t mind talking into a microphone ;-)
